Program description:
The aim of the program is to educate pop music performers who – with their technical knowledge and skills in the field of electro-technical, instrumental and vocal techniques and performance skills – are able to perform in various musical ensembles and according to their professional competence are able to collaborate in the operation of musical or cultural institutions or to take simple managerial roles in pop music management. They are prepared to continue their studies at master’s level.

Entrance exam description:
The two main aspects of the selection procedure are the professional educational results and the English language proficiency. In case of a missing certificate about the English language proficiency we conduct a Skype interview in order to check the applicant’s English language skills. After evaluating the documentations and previous educational results, the applicant is required to take an entrance exam (online) and is admitted with a result of at least 60%.

Short History of Classical Music, History of Popular Music, Folk Music/Folk Music Arrangements, Solfege, Music Theory, Applied Music Composition, Cultural History, History of Philosophy, Pop Music Instrument/ Singing Major, Knowledge of Repertoire, Improvisation, Band Practice, Producer Basic Skills, Piano, Management Fundamentals, Foreign Language (English for music professionals), Sound Editing, Orchestration, Rhythm Section, Stage Presence (for singers), Background Singing (for singers), Knowledge of Instrument (for the specific major)

Internship, practice: Performing practice (concerts, galas) closely linked to the skills development process, as defined in the curriculum and the semester work plan.

Career opportunities

Graduates can go on to work as professional pop musicians in various bands or other areas of the music industry. They can also take on general management tasks in various cultural and artistic institutions.

They can continue their studies in future pop music-related university master’s programs.
