Overview
The objective of the Mikoviny Sámuel Doctoral School of Earth Sciences is to provide a sound scientific foundation for engineering activities requiring fundamental knowledge in earth sciences. and to encourage publication on research results, developments and applications. The doctoral school, established in the 1990s, carries out activities in three main streams: raw material management, including primary materials and waste recycling, water and soil management, and energy management. The first two years of the PhD programme are the study and research period, while the second two years focus on research and the dissertation. Research fields: Geotechnical Systems and Processes, Fluid Production and Transport Systems, Environmental Processing and Raw Material Preparation, Research in Applied Geophysics, Research on Applied Geology and Hydrogeology, and Physical and Human Geography.
